Although the primary function of the Morne des Cadet, is agriculture. But since 2001 we have also been offering a section dedicated to agrotourism, which is to say, the adaptation of traditional tourism with the agricultural medium. The objective is to offer an experience of life on the farm combined with the cultural dimension, which makes up any classic voyage of discovery.

Fabrication of manioc flour

Introduced in Martinique during the pre-Columbian era, manioc dough was the basic aliment of the Caribbean and of the first settlers. Manioc is a shrub from the euphorbiacées family; it is its roots that provide the dough. The preparation of the cassave (cooked round and flat cake made with manioc flour) is done in two steps. To begin with, the root of the plant needs to be peeled, grated, washed, and pressed in order to extract the juice. Then, the pulp needs to be sieved and dried on big platinum plaques wood heated. Twelve minutes later and it's done!

Still today, in the Lorrain country, one can find a few craft fabrics of manioc dough. The Ragald family, among others, perpetuates the traditions (on Tuesdays). On reservation you can see them transform the manioc into cassave and taste them (either plain or coconut). From the N1, at the Lorrain exit, make a right before the bridge on the D22. The fabric is on your left on a little steep road

Surfin'Madinina

It is between the months of September and March that people in Martinique benefit the most from the waves breaking on the Atlantic coast, kindliness of the swell from Atlantic North.

From Anse Céron until the Caravelle peninsula, surfers can benefit from a great variety of spots in a magical environment. My favorite spots are Ti’ Plage in Tartane, 60 minutes by car from Léon’s hamlet, and Couleuvre, about 30 minutes away. Tchimbé raid pa moli

The Anolis is a medium size lizard that has the ability to change its color depending on the temperature or light of its environment, which is why it is often referred to as the false chameleon. A beautiful and gentile creature, the Anolis is abundant in Martinique.

Cock's fighting

Barbarism for some, pleasure for others, cock fighting unchains the passion of the Antilles. As prized in the Caribbean Islands as in the Spanish corridas, the show is worth the detour. At your own risk…
